October Has A Mystery!

Our October meeting was a mystery quilt. Ann designed and brought the directions and the mystery began to be revealed. Members had the fabric requirements and the cutting directions before they came. The first steps were directions in making the block that was the focal point of the quilt. Steps also included the set in blocks and borders. There was a lot of fun going on as we worked. This is the second time we have done a mystery quilt. I think we all decided that the best part was the visiting while we sewed and the show and tell at the end. It's wonderful to see the variety of colors and the unique quilts that came from one pattern.
The name of the quilt was The State Fair. The block featured was the State Fair block. Some of the color choices could remind you of candy floss, carnival rides, footlong hotdogs and the excitement in the air.
Pictures of some of the quilts can be seen in November's section of the blog.
