Community Service Projects:

Cindys baking angles:  I received an email needing pillow cases for activity duty personnel 8 hours ago.  Within 3 hours she had commitments for all the pillow cases she needed for this particular campaign.   Timing is everything.

My suggestion for those who want to participate in this program is for us to have a stash of pillowcases that I can commit to Immediately without having to email everyone.  She does many small campaigns so we can commit to 5 or 6 pillowcases per campaign.

We have a Saturday QOV cutting day scheduled for Feb.  This could be a day to cut and assemble pillow cases.  Hopefully between what was donated for non QOV projects and what quilt members can bring we can get kits and finished cases assembled.

Toiletries for the Troops.   Crown Royal brought cases of their purple bags and toiletries to the last Dallas Cowboys home game.  They had people attending the game fill out a card and included it in the bag with toiletries provided.

Ryan’s cases for Smiles.  The pillow cases dropped off at Pinkeys Too Quilt Shoppe have been picked up and some additional kits have been left.  Donna Br is helping me get many of the cases done.  I’d like to have all 80 cases done so they can be used during the Christmas season.

Monthly sit and sew:  I’m not able to attend the sit and sews scheduled for weekdays.  If anyone would like pillow case kits for those days i can make sure to get kits to someone going.

Thank you again Lynn H for allowing Pinkey’s Too to be a drop of for Ryan’s cases for smiles.  Kathy and Lynn S are great.
