2011 Feb Welcome to our new Blog!

Welcome to our new Farmersville Quilt Guild blog. We are excited to share our quild, our quilters, and our projects.

The guild was established in June of 2009. Ann, one of our local quilters, felt that a place to share quilts, ideas and friendship was needed in Farmersville. After putting an announcement in the Farmersville Times a group of women came together and agreed to form the Farmersville Quilt Guild (FQG). In the passed two years our numbers have grown. The programs have ranged from projects, tip nights and speakers to community service quilts.

April 12th Meeting:
April's meeting will be presented by the People  Powered Peddlers. Monica and her group will demo their hand crank sewing machines. Sewing machine history, along with the care and feeding of the machines will be discussed.

2011 March Meeting

The March meeting was a project night. Our guild president came with a sewing and needle book pattern and taught those that attended how to work with wool applique. The book included places for thread, needles and scissors. It also has a pocket for extras. It folds together and is closed with a button.
