2011 September Has Tips, Tricks and Tools

You've asked for this and here it is! Come join us and learn about quilting tips, tricks and tools. Several guild members will show tips and tricks that they have learned. Members will learn about easy flying geese, sewing tool holders for your sewing machines, information on quilt batting and "quilt as you go" techniques. Lots of quilting tools will be shown and explained. If there is a tool that you've always wanted to learn to use, bring it with you and we will talk about them. Members are also asked to bring their favorite tip or trick to show.
The fat quarter drawing is featuring jewel tone fabrics. Bring your fat quarters for a chance to win them all in October. Be sure to bring your show and tell items too.
The guild meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at the O. E. Carlisle Civic Center. The meeting will start at 7:00 pm.

July Program Changed

Debra couldn't come to the guild meeting because of a family emergency. After several phone calls it was decided to use an idea that had been suggested several times and never done. NAME TAGS!! Three guild members got together with some new fabric, donated batting and plastic and had a fun day sewing and talking. The end result was great.
Guild members were asked to bring trims, buttons or any other embellishments that they would like to share. At the meeting each person was given a basic name tag to embellish and personalize. A front pocket was designed to hold the guild membership card and a back pocket large enough for a pair of small scissors or other necessities. Ann brought handouts and taught how to make ruching that can be used as flowers. Everyone went to work and take a look at the results!
All smiles with a new tag!

New member and a great name tag all in one night.

Glue guns, trims and a lot of fun for all.
A big thank you to all those that helped make a great program.

Show and tell was another highlight to the July program.
