Quilts of Valor Presentation

On Tuesday, July 5th 2016 The Farmersville Quilt Guild was honored to present patriotic Quilts of Valor made by our members to two of our North East Texas Veterans:
R.O. Tower and Jerry Farmer.  Both of these gentlemen served in the US Army:  Mr. Tower from Hagansport, Tx served in the Vietnam War and Mr. Farmer lives who lives in Farmersville, Tx.  served in the Korean War.
We were told by the QOV staff of Texas that our area had a nine month waiting period of those nominated for a quilt. We are continuing to make more quilts that take months sometime since we make these quilts at our homes in spare time or at our sew days 2 times a month.  Our monthly meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Carlise Civic Center.  All are invited to come and If anyone is interested in helping we are glad to receive donations to help us purchase material for more quilts.  We are a non-profit organization and to earn funds for quilts by sell tickets for a raffle quilt yearly and in addition to our Quilts of Valor we make a quilt for the Farmersville Fire Dept to raffle off and 3 patriotic quilts for Audie Murphy Day and for the last 2 years were able to give $1000 scholarship to Farmersville graduating seniors.
