QOV Info:

All Call for QOV quilt tops
Hello ladies,
I’m trying to make sure that I have received all the QOV 9 patch quilt tops that we worked on in February at our QOV sew day.  I know that some
Tops were taken home to complete and I’m not sure I have received them all back.  I’m just making sure that I have them all.  Please let me know if you are still working on one,
Or need help completing one.  That would be great.  Of course if you have one that is complete, just give me a call or send me email, I will
Be happy to swing by and pick it up.  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me I’ll be happy to talk with you.

JR sent out an earlier email regarding QOV membership, I do hope you all have had a chance to see it.  You’ll be seeing more from me about this subject ðŸ˜Š

On another note, make sure that you are checking out the blog.  JR has been posting pictures of the “Sew n Tell” quilts which haven’t been able to show in person.
Always fun to see what others have been working on.

Take care and Stay Safe!!

Quilts of Valor Group membership Renewal 2020-2021
Hello Everyone,
Thanks for your patience as I confirmed some information with the QOV organization regarding on line membership renewal.

This year the Group membership cost has increased to $75 for the Guild/group, and Individual memberships are as follows.
$10.00 a year without pin
$15.00 a year with pin

Being a group member is still a considerable savings. A stand-alone individual membership is now $40.
If you elect to receive a pin; all pins will be mailed to me and I will get them to you.

Currently the QOVF organization is being charged 5.7% processing fee.  They are giving us an option to pay this fee in addition to
the membership amount listed above.
Using our current Group status as an example: Group Renewal and 23 Members renewals would result in approx. $17 to $24
Processing fee cost that the organization would have to pay, unless we opt to cover this cost.  I would like to recommend that we
Pay this fee.  If we do then your membership amount would be $10.57 or $15.86; or the guild could consider covering this cost.

I’ve tried to find out if we can remit our renewal using snail mail, sending a check as payment. So far they aren’t saying no,
however I get the feeling that they prefer us to use the on-line process. ðŸ˜Š

Please respond on this email to me, at the rfw2bjw@verizon.net address letting me know if you plan to renew this year,
and if you wish to receive a pin or not.  If you do not wish to renew please let me know or if you currently are not a member of our group
and wish to become a member please let me know.  Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Barb

Project Linus 2020 Mystery Quilt

August 16, 2020

Dear Project Linus Friends,

Just wanted to let you know that registration is now open for the 2020 Project Linus Mystery Quilt Challenge "Lucy's Love Notes" and we would love to have you join us!

This is our "big fundraiser" for Project Linus each year and we thank you for supporting the children we serve with your donation and participation.

In spite of the craziness 2020 has brought to us so far this year, the Project Linus Mystery Quilt Challenge will make up for all of that! We are so excited to create this beautiful mystery quilt with you. Novice quilters as well as those with more experience are all welcome to join us. The detailed written instructions as well as the accompanying videos make this a fun and "do-able" experience for all! For those of you who are homeschooling, this would make a great hands-on project for your tweens and teens! If you are simply staying at home for whatever reason and find you have extra time on your hands, this is the perfect time to give this project a try!

Please go to www.projectlinus.org and click on the link at the top of the page to register. Don't forget to designate your local Project Linus chapter as the recipient of your $15 donation.

Also, please check out our Facebook Group: CLICK HERE We have some GREAT prizes donated by Moda and the Fat Quarter Shop to give away during the challenge. The first clue will be revealed on Saturday, September 26th and the BIG REVEAL will be on Saturday, November 7th.

Thank you for your continued support of Project Linus! We hope you'll consider joining the challenge.

From Project Linus local chapter:
Good morning,

I was notified yesterday, that our chapter is in 2nd place for top participating chapter in the mystery challenge.  Thank you to all those that have registered.    If you've never signed up for one of these challenges, I encourage you to register today.  It is so much fun!!  The challenge is perfect for inexperienced as well as experienced quilters.  There are video tutorials for each clue (block).  Last year's challenge was Logey Bear (picture attached).  The new challenge is Lucy's Love Notes.  We do know that Lucy is a flamingo.  When you finish the quilt, it is yours to do with as you please.  Of course, PL would love to have to it!!!

We have about 1/2 the sign ups we had last year but we are still in 2nd place.   I believe not having the Plano Quilt Show in August is the difference.  Let's reach out to all our quilting friends and see if we can get into first place.  If we all recruited one more person to register, we could do it!    As far as I know there isn't a prize involved, only bragging rights.

Sign up today at www.projectlinus.org.  List Collin, Texas as your chapter and we will receive the $15 registration fee to use on blanket supplies.   Also, remind your friends to list our chapter so they will be added to our list.

To love what you do and feel you make a difference......what could be better?
