July 2015 heard some ripping and tearing

Guild members had some fun with a game called 'Rip & Tear'

Members brought a yard of fabric and the directions were to rip in half, then pass one piece to your left, each piece you get you rip in half, an so on... ripping until you were left with a tiny piece.

Then with all your pieces take home and get creative.

June 2015 Happy 7th Birthday!

June once again brings our birthday party meeting. Jackie was the chairman and did a very fun Mad Hatter Tea Party theme. She used different tea cups that held fresh flowers and playing cards as decorations. After the party the tea cup bouquets were used as door prizes.  We played lots of great quilter's games and ate cake and more goodies while we visited. This was the first meeting that our new board members held this year. Congratulations to Tracie, Charlotte, Lynn and Jackie.

May showers bring beautiful Quilts!

The rain came and came in May! So what to quilters do, 'QUILT'.

May's meeting was all about "Getting To Know You". Members filled out personal questioners and shared with the Guild. And we also shared the first quilt they made.
With over 20 members only half were able to share, to be continued at the July meeting.
Was very interesting learning more about our Guild members

April 2015 and Noah's Ark

Even though we are in a drought Noah came to visit this month. Ann brought a wool appliqué kit for everyone to try wool appliqué. The kit included the background, ark and animal wool fabric to use. Embroidery floss that matched each piece of wool was included. Ann taught how to use a blanket stitch to sew the design pieces. Most people in Texas aren't familiar with wool and how easy it is to make fun projects. It was nice to try something out of the ordinary.

Ready to go!
