2011 Dec Farmersville Quilt Guild Christmas Party

The annual guild Christmas party was incredible. Donna, the chairman, and her committee did an fantastic job. The food was delicious.  Not only do we have great quilters but, we have great cooks too. Emails have been coming all month with recipe requests. Jackie did a marvelous job on decorations. Each table was set just right for holiday cheer. The program was an ornament exchange with a twist. This is were the fun began! When you chose an ornament there was the possibility that the next in line would steal it away!  Next time you see Karen ask her how many times she lost an ornament. There was also a drawing for gifts. Each person had a number on a pinecone set at her place. The number corresponded with a wrapped gift. Everyone went home well fed and happy. What a wonderful way to start the holiday season.

2011 Oct Our First Raffle Quilt Debuts

The guild raffle quilt is finished and looks beautiful. Marsha is the raffle quilt chairman and is busy handing out tickets for sale to members. The quilt made it's debut at Old Time Saturday in Farmersville. This is the second year that we have participated with a booth. Jackie was the chairman and her hard work really paid off. There was plenty to see and do at the booth with quilts hanging and three hand crank sewing machines to sew on. Members took turns manning the booth. There were many people that came to ask questions about the sewing machines and sign up for guild information. It was so much fun to meet people of all ages and from so many different places.

2011 November Fun and Games

The November meeting was filled with happy quilters. Karen provided a wonderful program of games and there was a lot of laughing heard around the room. Several guild members said that their favorite game was "Left-Right-Center" where members bet fat quarters to win the center pile. While munching on refreshments members bet 2 1/2" strips in "Strip poker. Thanks to all that helped make it such a great night!
