Christmas 2013 Time At The Guild

Santa came to the guild this year. Though he was a little shorter than what you might expect, he added a merry element to our annual Christmas meeting. Did I mention that when you pushed his button he sang? The santa was just one of the many beautiful decorations that made the night so festive. We started with Sew and Tell before we all lined up for the delicious assortment of food that was brought this year. Lynn was the Christmas committee chairman and she did a wonderful job. She served a tasty ham and the rest of the banquet was brought by the members and guests. A special guest was Joan. It was so nice to see her again. After we had eaten we started the games. Ann and Debi planned a quick get to know you game. Used Christmas cards were cut in half and the excitement came trying to find who had your other half. When everyone was matched up they had to find out three things that we don't know about each other. What fun it was to see how unique everyone is! The next game is always a favorite. We choose, steal and steal again the homemade ornaments that we all have brought. In the last game, we chose gifts that Bonnie had found during the year. Everyone had a number and selected a wrapped gift off the table. There was a warm feeling and a smile on everyone as we said our goodnights. Christmas brings out the best of us and our guild is no exception. Our group is filled with talented, friendly and caring women who have the love of quilting in common.

November 2013 Pumpkin Patch

Jackie taught how to make stuffed pumpkins in our November meeting. There were two types of pumpkins available to make. One was a no-sew and the other was a sewn pumpkin that came in three sizes. Sewing machines were set up and we all got to work. Karen brought some Fall decorations that could be placed on the tops. It was perfect and made them so beautiful. Everyone went home with at least one finished pumpkin and some of us made all three. At the end of the meeting there was a display of all the pumpkins that were made. You could hear the OOOO's and AHHHHH's from around the room.
