New Officers!

The June birthday celebration brought new and old members together. Everyone enjoyed the luscious cake that Bonnie made with a cream filling to die for. There was laughter heard throughout the room as the game was played. One lucky person from each table went home with a very large pile of 2 1/2" strips and everyone that came got to pick one of the door prizes specially chosen for the birthday. At the end of the meeting, during the officer installation, the new officers were given a quilt item to describe the role that they will have in the guild during the upcoming year. They are now planning and organizing more programs and activities for the next year.
Donna was able to present 16 quilts to representatives of the Hinton Home during the meeting. The guild worked hard to get them ready and the Hinton Home was very pleased to receive them.
Elizabeth is the new chairman for community service and another community service project is in the planning. The guild will have a community service program for the meeting in August. The guild also has an Old Time Saturday chairman who will soon be signing up volunteers to man the guild booth.
Members were able to take a peek at the guild raffle quilt. The binding will be put on and it will be ready to go. The guild is looking for a chairman to help organize the ticket sales.
Welcome to two new members!
A BIG THANK YOU to all the past officers and chairman for their hard work and dedication to the guild. The past two years has been a great adventure for local quilters and the members that have joined the guild. New friends have been made, ideas shared and new things learned. As one member said,"It's where I want to be."

2011 June Happy 2nd Birthday

The Tuesday, June 14 meeting will be held at the O.E. Carlisle Civic Center at 201 Orange St., Farmersville, TX at 7:00 pm. The annual birthday will be celebrated with games and the installation of the new officers.  Membership dues are due in June. The dues are paid annually and are $25.00.
Members are asked to bring five 2 1/2", by the width of fabric, strips for playing games. There will be a raffle for the batik fat quarters so this is your last chance to add batiks for the drawing. Show and tell will also be held.
What would a birthday party be without a birthday cake? Bonnie will bring a beautiful cake for refreshments.
Come and enjoy the party!

Congratulations to the New Board

The votes are all in and the 2011-12 board members received a unanimous vote. Almost 3/4 of the members voted with a resounding yes! Our new board will now be:
President - Joan
Vice President in charge of programs - Karen
Secretary - Becky
Treasurer - Carolyn

Committee Chairmen are:
Parliamentarian - Monica
Librarian - Jackie
Hospitality - Bonnie
Community Service - Elizabeth
Membership and Historian - Ann

Joan is hard at work organizing the board and getting ready for the meetings coming up. She is looking for new ideas for projects, programs and suggestions for improving our guild.
Good luck to all of the new board members. It will be a great year!
