January and February President's Email

Greetings Folks!!

  In January we once again retreated into our safe zones to protect ourselves and those we hold dear from a microbe of destruction. We have prevailed and now emerge (mostly) from our safety cocoons to experience our world in person.

  We will hold our February meeting with safety measures in place. Those of you that feel comfortable, please join us with joy in your hearts. Those that wish to remain in their cocoon, we wish you safety, joy and prayers. Those coming please bring your SHOW N TELL, and masks if that's what works for you.

  Barb has sent out an email regarding the QOV/ Community Service Day on Feb. 5th. 

There will be NO THURSDAY COMMUNITY SEW ON Feb. 3rd. See you March 3rd.

      Our December meeting was filled with Joy!! Those attending missed those not there,  but had much fun!!

Meeting was called to order at 7pm.

Raffle Quilt / Sandy Fisher   Quilt is named TWIRLS. It measures 89.5 x 79.5. Kathy ordered and paid for tickets 12/6/21 $173.14. Sandy will be handing out ticket envelopes at this Feb. Meeting to those that wish to sell them.  Sandy will be keeping a log.

7:30pm CHRISTMAS PARTY!!!!!!

A table gift of an adorable spool tree & treat bag of goodies was at each place. Everyone participated in BUILD A BLOCK. Please bring those sewn together blocks to the Feb Meeting . Please give them to Ann. Gift Bag judging was done by Ann/ Karen. Donna B. won. Everyone loved their ornaments/gifts. a game of WHAT'S IN YOUR PURSE was played & won by Areva. The BIG FINALE was our Gift Trading with Ann reading about Mr. / Mrs. Right and Left. Boy did that move along!!!  My guest Lisa took a group picture of attendees.  We had a fantastic SHOW N TELL!! At 8:45 Sandy guided us in a Closing Prayer. 8:47pm meeting was adjourned and we cleaned up.

PLEASE NOTE The BLOCK OF THE MONTH  hasn't had much participation.???

January BOM is the TIGER PAW for 2022 is the YEAR OF THE TIGER. See Jan BLOG. Directions will be emailed before meeting & put on the blog also.

February BOM will be from a Pintrest site FREE SCRAPPY HEART QUILT BLOCK 

      altteredthoughtofacraftymom.com, or   Favequilts.com or CraftGossip.com free heart quilt patterns.

Your choice of which heart pattern you decide to do is up to you.  Please make sure the finished size is 12.5 so it goes with the other blocks.

Hi Guild Members, 

Because of the weather and most of Farmersville being without power we are canceling National QOV Sew Day tomorrow 2/5/22.

You can still participate in National QOV SEW DAY.

GO TO qovf.org 

Register and you will be in the drawings. There is a sewing machine and more they are raffling off. GOOD LUCK

You should have your member number from when they send your member card in an email.

Any questions ask Barb.

Hello Guild Members, 

We be will be holding our QOV Sew Day this Saturday 2/5/22 at the civic center.

We invite you to participate at the level you feel comfortable with.

You are welcome to bring your machine and work on an existing QOV project, or sew a few 2022 QOV blocks.

Or if wish you can come help cut fabric to create 2022 QOV block kits.

Or you are welcome to stop by and pick up a block kits or 2 and sew at home.

We are opting to start our event at 1pm

This will allow everyone to have lunch before they come.
