October 2020 Community Service day

Barn Quilt Raffle Drawing to be done in OCTOBER

*********************************************************************************

Hello Ladies,

We have been given the okay to use the Civic Center in accordance with the State Covid 19 guidelines.  We will have the necessary items to sanitize.  Masks are required and you will need to use hand sanitizer upon entry.  If you forget your mask we will have extra.

To get us started we are going to have a Community Service day On SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17TH from 9:30 to 3:30, AT CIVIC CENTER. This is not a sew day.  We will have donated fabric and patterns to make kits for Project Linus.  You can take fabric home to cut or you can cut at the civic center.   We will have cutting tables set up.  If you would like to bring your own rotary cutter that's fine. Please return kits or finished tops to the next Saturday Community service day November 21.  We also have December 19th as another Community Service Day.

We are working on getting pillow case kits from Ryan's cases for Smiles for October.  They can be turned into Pinkey's Too.   Our November gathering we will work on kits for Hearts and other community projects.

No group food is allowed at this time.  You are welcome to bring something to drink or eat for yourself.  Renovations are still going on in the kitchen and is out of service.

We are limited on how many people are in the building at one time. We are trying to spread arrival times out hourly depending on how many people are wanting to come.   At this time we ask that you email Pat pending

(Gone2quilt@yahoo.com)  with an arrival time.  We are only allowing 5 people in the building at a time besides officers.  Please text Pat if you are not able to attend at the time reserved for you.  This will allow us to extend the time of a person already in the building.

We ask for everyone’s cooperation in making this a healthy get together.  This is an opportunity for establishing safe guidelines so we can start Guild meetings sometime in 2021.

The health of our guild members and their families is our #1 priority.  Unfortunately no hugs or personal contact at this time. Please use social distancing 6ft guide lines.

We are open for any suggestions to keep this and future gatherings as safe as possible.

Future days will be announced once we see how the 2020 gatherings go.

During 2021 we are hopeful that we can hold Saturday Community service days the 3rd Saturday on the month. At sometime during the year we will be able to turn these into sew days. Also planning on having community service sew days on 1st Thursday of the month again.

SEE YOU SOON,

Pat Pending

FQG Members,

I hope that this finds all doing well and staying safe.  It has been awhile since we have met together as a Guild.  Not sure when or if things will ever be our normal again, but we will work together to find our new normal.

I would like to thank the Executive Board for covering for me while I went through my cancer treatments.  I appreciate all the calls, texts, and cards.  I am doing well and gradually gaining back my strength.  I especially send a warm thanks for the beautiful quilt that provided me with many hours of calming comfort.  It still is draped on the back of my chair!

I want to thank you all once again for allowing me to serve as your President this past year.  But as we pass the torch to the next Board I ask that you give as much support and love as you have shown in the past.  Even though we have not been able to meet and swear them in, they have already begun fulfilling their duties.

It is time to go to work!  The Executive Board has begun working on some ideas for the coming year and for the time that we can get together soon.  You may have already heard about the “Come and Go” on Saturday, October 17th at the Civic Center.  Check your email box for more information.  Or if you didn’t receive the email contact President Lesa Allred.

If you have questions, want to be in the know,  have ideas and suggestions for projects, speakers, etc., please contact President Lesa Allred.  As always, any new project must be approved by the Executive Board.

Again, thank you and I look forward to the future.  May we all keep safe, healthy and pray we can meet again soon.

 Love,

Kathy W
