March 2015 Is Big Bags Project

Big project bags was the March program. Ann and Bonnie each brought some really big bag designs to share with the guild. Ann's bag was a version of the Burda pattern called the Pumpkin Bag. Bonnie brought a huge bag with the directions. It was fun to see what fabrics people brought to sew their bags with.

February 2015 For Hearts

Bonnie presented a fun program using needle punch to make small heart pins. We all brought small embroidery hoops, thread, scissors and the special punch needle. Most of the guild have never done any needle punching. After the first few tries with the punch it was easy and the hearts turned out very cute. Bonnie brought some ideas for designs to work on and patterns to draw onto the cloth we used to punch.

January 2015 is Warming Up With Sweatshirts

Donna presented the program in January on different ways to change an ordinary sweatshirt into a beautiful jacket. Members watched as she demonstrated three different techniques. Each one was shown in detail so that we would be able to go home and make our own creation. Using fabric to cover sleeves, front or backs makes areas of interest in the jackets. A multicolored fabric works really well for doing details in cutwork. It was a super program.

December 2014 Means a Holiday Party!

This month is always a favorite for our guild members. This years tables were decorated by Jackie with a forest theme. Donna, Debi, Ann and Jackie made little wool - felt red bird pin cushions for the table favors. We love games and this night was no exception. The ornament game was played again this year with ornaments that the members made or bought. After we finished that game we selected gifts that were drawn by number. Each member was able to choose a gift when her number came up. I think that our guild has probably the best cooks and this years dinner was wonderful. There was turkey, ham, with lots of sides and of course dessert. It was a just right to brighten the holidays.
